Those damnedable, partisan Liberal courts
MSNBC.com is reporting that Patrick Fitzgerald, special prosecutor for the Valerie Plame-Wilson outing cast, has determined that the CIA did in fact consider her a covert agent, and went to great lengths to conceal her identity.
This sort of knocks the wind out of the sails at the White House, which has been spinning all sorts of BS to obfuscate and turn public opinion in their favor. Turns out that Scooter Libby, former Chief of Staff for VP Dick Cheney, has testified that it was, indeed, Cheney who had informed him of Mrs. Wilson's identity and vocation. Libby promptly gave this information to New York Times reporter/White House stenographer Judy Miller.
The real BS in this case is the fact that a Federal Judge has scheduled the trial for this case to occur in February 2007 - AFTER the mid-year elections. This certainly works to the advantage of the ever-corruptible Republican party, as it takes off the public agenda yet another example of their innate inability to adhere to both the letter, and spirit, of the laws of this land.
